Andy Degan
Bristol, CT | Central Connecticut State University '13

Andy Degan will be on the Cape for the first time this summer and he is very excited to be joining the group! He is from Bristol, CT, is 20 years old, and sings Tenor 1.
Andy's singing career started at a very early age in church choirs and was continued throughout school. He has been singing in barbershop quartets since sixth grade, started an all-male a cappella group at his high school as a junior and has since become an a capella fanatic in college. He is a Music Education major at Central Connecticut State University and is currently serving as Assistant Director in his all-male group, Divisi, and is also the Vice President of the A Cappella Society.
Andy was first introduced to the Sound in his sophomore years of high school when his sister brought home a HS CD from her music camp. He then rediscovered them in college by watching Youtube videos of Firedrill!, a group of HS alumni, and he decided to audition. Although he didn't get in his first year, he didn't give up hope, auditioned the following year, and got in. Yay!
Andy loves to stay super busy during the school year. In addition to singing, he plays on the Ultimate Frisbee team with the CCSU Blue Barracudas. Andy was named Mr. CCSU this past spring and maintains a GPA presentable to his parents. Outside of school, he is a choir section leader at First Church of Christ in New Britain and a member of the professional choir Concora. He is a huge baseball fan, and supports the Boston Red Sox passionately.
Andy would like to thank his family for being super awesome and preparing him for anything life throws at him, including living with 9 other guys for the summer. His birthday is May 18.
