Joe Whitney is back for his third summer on Cape Cod with the Hyannis Sound. He sings bass/baritone and does vocal percussion as well.

Growing up in Marlborough, MA, Joe began singing in choirs and musical productions at Marlborough High School.  When he arrived at the University of Virginia four years ago, he joined one of UVA’s guys groups, the Hullabahoos, and eventually became Business Manager and President. He recently graduated in May of 2010 with a degree in Cognitive Science/Neuroscience and will continue his education by attending dental school in the fall of 2011.

Joe heard about the Hyannis Sound from older guys in his hometown who encouraged him to audition. After visiting fellow Hullabahoo and Hyannis Sound alumnus Patrick Lundquist in the summer of 2008, Joe knew this was an unbelievable opportunity he could not pass up and booked a flight up to Boston and auditioned the following spring.

He would like to thank his loving family and friends as well as the wonderful Hyannis Sound fans who make performing with this group so special. He will be moving back up to the Boston area after the summer. His birthday is January 26.
